|Please be aware that the NOPD reported a shooting on Monday, January 22, 2018, at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the 6600 block of Franklin Ave., near the NET Charter School. One person was grazed. Police do not believe that there is any continued threat to the community as a result of the incident. |

|At approximately 7 p.m. on 8/23/2017, a black BMW, with four occupants, was driving on the Service Drive alongside the Education Building. One of the suspects got out of the car and pointed a handgun at the victim. The victim ran off and the car left. |On March 1, 2017, UNO PD received a report of a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred on the UNO campus. The female victim, who is not a student, was driven to campus by an unknown black male and sexually assaulted. |

|On Friday, April 15, 2016, at approximately 11:00pm, 2 UNO students were crossing the Human Performance Center parking lot when they were approached by a dark gray early model 4 door vehicle occupied by 3 black males, early 20’s, all wearing hoodies. The rear passenger pointed a paint ball gun at the students and fired several shots. One of the UNO students was struck in the torso but was not injured. The other UNO student was not harmed. The vehicle then fled onto Leon C. Simon in a easterly direction. The UNO Police Department is asking the UNO community to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity and to report it immediately by calling (504)280-6666 or dial 911. |
Sexual Assault Reported at Privateer Place Apartments

|On January 21, 2016, UNO PD received a report of a sexual assault which was reported to have occurred during the first week of December, 2015, at a Privateer Place apartment. The victim reported she was assaulted by an acquaintance, a UNO student.|
Aggravated Battery with Paint Ball Guns

|On Friday, October 30, 2015, at approximately 9:30 pm, 2 students were crossing the street at Leon C. Simon and Milneburg Road when the occupants of an unknown type black vehicle fired numerous paint ball rounds striking both students; one student in the face and the other student in the legs. Both students were transported to a medical facility where they were treated and released. The UNO Police Department is asking the UNO community to be on the lookout for any suspicious activity and to report it immediately by calling (504)280-6666 or dial 911.|
Person Wanted by UNO Police for Violating Protective Order

|Please be on the lookout for a man who is wanted by the UNO Police for violating a protective order by coming to campus to see his ex-girlfriend, who is a UNO student.
Wanted person, 48-year old Thomas Ginther Jr. is 5-foot-10, 140 lbs. with long grey hair and blue eyes. He drives a 1990s silver Volvo station wagon. Ginther is prohibited from being on UNO’s campus.
If you see him, please call the UNO Police Department at 280-6666. Members of a New Orleans Police Department Task Force are currently searching for Ginther.

|REPORTED OFFENSE: On Sunday, May 3, 2015, just before 10:00 p.m., an aggravated burglary was reported at Privateer Place Apartments. Privateer Place Apartments are located at the back of the UNO Campus near the intersection of Founders Road and Levee Road.
SUSPECTS: Both of the two male suspects are known to the victim.
The victim, a UNO student, answered a knock on the door of his Privateer Place Apartment. The suspects, armed with handguns, entered the apartment and demanded property. The victim was subsequently found to be in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash.
The UNO Police Department booked one student with possession with the intent to distribute marijuana. Another student was issued a summons for possession of drug paraphernalia.
The New Orleans Police Department is investigating with assistance from the UNO Police Department.
UNIVERSITY POLICE WOULD ALSO LIKE TO REMIND THE UNO COMMUNITY:
· Selling or using drugs on campus will not be tolerated
· Do not open your door to anyone you don’t know
· Report all suspicious behavior to the UNO Police Department
Armed Robbery at Privateer Place Apartments

|On January 30, 2015, at approximately 10:15pm,the victim reported being approached by two unknown black males. Subject # 1 was described as 6'0" tall and stocky built. He was wearing a dark sweater with a red symbol on the front. He was clean shaven. Subject #2 was approximately 5'10" tall wearing slender build and armed with a silver 9mm, semi-automatic pistol. Subject #2 pointed the gun at the victim and demanded his valuables. The offense was interrupted when a university police car passed on patrol. The perpetrators fled with only a pair sunglasses belonging to the victim.|

|An armed robbery occurred at a bus stop across the street from the UNO East Campus last Tuesday at approximately 10:00p.m. The case is being investigated by the New Orleans Police Department’s Third District.

Auto Burglaries at Lakefront Arena

|During the last three months, there have been a reported 10 auto burglaries which have occurred in the parking lots of the Lakefront Arena. In all 10 incidents a vehicle window had been shattered in order to gain entry into the vehicle. There were various items of property taken in these burglaries but in the majority of these incidents, the property taken was visible from outside of the vehicle.
The UNO Police Department requests the UNO community’s assistance with preventing these auto burglaries from occurring by locking their property in the vehicle’s trunk area or in the vehicle’s interior out of sight. Armed Robbery 6301 Elysian Fields Avenue

|On Sunday, April 28, 2013, at approximately 3:20am, two armed unknown masked subjects entered the daiquiri shop as employees were leaving after closing. They forced the employees back into the business and into the safe room where they forced the manager to open the safe. After taking the money the armed subjects fled.

|On January 15, 2013, at approximately 10:26 pm, an African-American male (5’9” tall, weighing 160 lbs, thin build, brown complexion, wearing a black hooded jacket, blue hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans, gloves, white tennis shoes, armed with a handgun) entered a gas station in the 6300 block of Elysian Fields Ave and demanded money from the clerk, to which he complied. The perpetrator then fled on foot.|

|On Sunday, January 13, 2013, at approximately 3:00am, two African-American males (Both 5’9” tall, thin build, wearing a dark-colored hooded-sweatshirt and dark-colored clothing, armed with handguns) approached the employees of a daiquiri shop in the 6300 block of Elysian Fields Ave as they were leaving for the night and forced them back into the business. Once inside, the perpetrators forced one of the employees to open the safe and removed money before fleeing the location. NOPD is investigating the incident.|
Armed Robbery in Privateer Place Apartments

|On Sunday, December 2, 2012, at approximately 4:30pm, the victim heard a knock at his front door. When the victim opened the door two unknown suspects forced their way into the apartment. One suspect was armed with a silver automatic hadndgun. The victim was forced into the bathroom while the suspects searched the victim's apartment. Several items belonging to the victim were placed in a bag and the suspects then fled from the apartment.
#1 - Black male, light skin, medium build, 5'10"-5'11", 150-170 lbs., wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black pants, with a black scarf covering mouth and nose and wearing gloves.
#2 - Black male, dark skin, medium build, 5'10"-6'1", 145-160 lbs., red hooded sweatshirt, red scarf covering mouth and nose, and wearing gloves.

|An armed robbery occurred on Monday, August 13, 2012, at approximately 11:15pm at the daiquiri shop in the 6300 blk. of Elysian Fields. The suspects are described as three African-American males 1. 6’4”, 230 lbs, medium build, wearing a brown shirt, armed with a shotgun; 2. 5’4”, 170 lbs, medium build, wearing black jeans, a gray sweatshirt, white mask, armed with a handgun; 3. No description given. The suspects entered the daiquiri shop and demanded money from the employees, to which they complied. The perpetrator(s) then fled the scene.|
New Orleans Police investigate Fatal Shooting in Milneburg Neighborhood

|New Orleans Police are investigating the murders of a 26-year-old man and a 22-year-old man. The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of family members. The incident occurred shortly before midnight in the 6200 block of Painters Street.
The 26-year-old man was located suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest and the 22-year-old man was located suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Both men were transported to the hospital where they later died.
Investigators are currently in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person(s) responsible in the incident, as well as a motive.

Suspects Wanted for Main Campus Auto Burglaries

|On Saturday, May 26, 2012, between 12noon and 12:20pm, there were 8 reported auto burglaries in the parking lot of the Human Performance Center. Video surveillance captured a black male exit a silver 2008-2010 4-door pick-up truck from the passenger side door. The driver of the pick up truck waited in the vehicle while the passenger smashed the window of a burglarized vehicle and then re-entered through the passenger door. The suspects then fled onto Leon C. Simon then unknown. The UNO Police Department is asking the UNO community for their assistance with identifying the suspects wanted for the auto burglaries. If anyone observes any suspicious activity, they are strongly encouraged to report the activity to the UNO Police Department at (504)280-6666.|

|On Saturday, May 26, 2012, between 8:00am and 11:30am, there were three separate burglaries which occured at the Lakefront Arena Aquatic Center. Two of the vehicles had the driver's side window shattered and property taken. The third vehicle had its driver's door lock defeated and property taken from the interior. The UNO Police Department is asking the UNO community to take precations to secure their property out of sight and not to leave valuables in plain site within the vehicle.
