Jared Munster (MURP 2006 and PhD 2012) was named interim director of the RTA.
Previously Jared had served as New Orlean's longtime director of safety and permits under former Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

On July 16, 2018, Michelle Thompson served as a panelist for "Our Neighborhoods Part IV:  The History of Environmental Justice".  This panel discussion focused on environmental justice, past and present, in the Hoffman Triangle, Zion City, Broadmoor, Gert Town, and Central City neighborhoods.  Other panelists included:  Susannah Burley, executive director of SOUL, and Kurt Hagstette, principal of Eskew, Dumez and Ripple.  The panel was moderated by UNO alumna Dr. Robert Collins, professor at Dillard University.
