CHART held an outreach meeting in Terrebonne Parish on October 27th to present mitigation recommendations for a repetitive loss area in the parish. The meeting was attended by parish officials and local residents. At the meeting, the project team was able to get feedback on the repetitive loss area analysis, hazard mitigation recommendations, and other issues that concern residents regarding flooding.

CHART Director Dr. Monica Farris attended a workshop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida from October 26-28, 2015. The workshop brought social and physical scientists together to discuss coastal resilience issues. Dr. Farris participated in a field trip that investigated local flooding issues, and moderated a workshop session.

CHART's Assistant Director, Tara Lambeth, attended a technical workshop in Baton Rouge entitled "Social and ecosystem science technical synthesis workshop." The workshop, funded by Louisiana Sea Grant's community resilience project, brought subject matter experts together to discuss the advantages and challenges of ecosystem restoration options that can be used to build community resilience.

UNO-CHART Director Dr. Monica Farris, Assistant Director Tara Lambeth, and Associate Faculty Member Dr. Pam Jenkins attended and helped facilitate three workshops held by the state's Office of Community Development in Plaquemines Parish, Terrebonne Parish and St. John the Baptist Parish. The workshops were meant to present, discuss and receive feedback from residents on resilience measures the state is including in their application to HUD's National Disaster Resilience Competition.
